The Greenline serves as a regional hub for the growing system of rail trails throughout Ulster County and is a segment of the Empire State Trail, which runs from New York City north up to the Canadian border, and west to Buffalo along the Erie Canal corridor. The “spine” of the Kingston Greenline system is a historic rail corridor that links to other regional rail trails: the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail, the O&W Rail Trail (aka the D&H Canal Heritage Corridor, or the Hurley/Marbletown Rail Trail), the Ashokan Rail Trail, and the Kingston Point Rail Trail. A network of complete streets, non-motorized trails, linear parks, and other pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure across Kingston creates an accessible and safe non-motorized transportation system within the city. Visit here to learn more about the Greenline's connections to other trails.
